COVER PLAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between You and Us for the Colchester Boilers Cover Plan concerning your central heating system. Please carefully review these terms and conditions. If you have any questions or need clarification, contact us at 01206 807225
SECTION 1 - DEFINITIONS
The following definitions apply to the Colchester Boilers Cover Plan Terms and Conditions:
Annual Service: Routine maintenance and safety check (including gas safe certificate) during the cover plan period to ensure the boiler complies with relevant laws and regulations.
Beyond Economical Repair: When boiler repair costs exceed 75% of the current retail price, it is considered beyond economical repair.
Boiler: A single natural gas, LPG, oil, or electric boiler powering the central heating system.
Breakdown: Sudden and unforeseen mechanical or electrical malfunction to the boiler and/or central heating system based on your chosen cover level.
Central Heating System: The system at the property, including the boiler, controls, radiators, pipes, hot water cylinders, central heating header tank, and all pipes.
Commencement Date: The date the Cover Plan product is purchased.
Controls: Devices making the central heating system work, such as the programmer, motorized zone valves, central heating pump, and thermostats.
Cover Plan: A Colchester Boilers plan designed to fix your boiler in case of breakdown.
First Service: A check to confirm coverage for your boiler, controls, and central heating system.
We/Us/Our: Colchester Bolilers LTD, based the UK (company number 14499268 )
Minor: A child under 18.
Plan: The Cover Plan taken out by You.
Period of Cover: The duration of the plan is a 12-month period from the Commencement Date unless cancelled by Us or You within the cancellation period.
Property: The residential property used for day-to-day living purposes.
Repair: A repair covered under the Cover Plan to fix your boiler and/or central heating system.
Renewal Date: The anniversary of the Commencement Date when the plan will renew.
Terms and Conditions: The terms and conditions covering the purchased Cover Plan product.
You/Your: The person(s) entering into the Terms and Conditions with Us.
Welcome Pack: The pack received upon the purchase of the Cover Plan plan, outlining the chosen level of cover.
Working Area: The area where repairs and/or annual service will be provided, including radiators, appliance locations, airing cupboard, and possibly loft spaces.
SECTION 2 – WHEN WILL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS COME INTO FORCE?
2.1 The Terms and Conditions become binding upon the purchase of a Cover Plan product.
SECTION 3 – FIRST VISIT BY COLCHESTER BOILER FOR NEW POLICIES
3.1 A First Service visit is required within 28 days of a new plan's commencement to inspect the boiler and central heating system for pre-existing faults.
SECTION 4 – YOUR COVER
4.1 The chosen cover level is outlined in your Welcome Pack.
4.2 Same-day call-out requests must be received before 10am, subject to engineer availability.
4.3 Colchester Boilers uses a preferred supplier for parts. In some instances, parts may be sourced directly from the manufacturer outside the UK, causing potential delays.
4.3 – BRONZE COVER
Repairs for covered boiler breakdowns, Monday to Friday.
Annual service appointment must be booked between April and August within the 12-month cover period.
4.4 SILVER COVER
Includes Silver Cover benefits.
Repairs to radiators, valves, pipes, hot water cylinders, and all pipes.
4.5 GOLD COVER
Includes Silver and Gold Cover benefits.
Covers oil.
365-day service availability.
Maximum cover sum of £1000.
4.6 TOTALLY ASSURED COVER
An annual policy available after a boiler installation, equivalent to Platinum Cover.
SECTION 5 – WHAT IS NOT COVERED
5.1 Product Exclusions:
Weekend and bank holiday call-outs (except GOLD Cover).
Continuous callouts for intermittent faults.
Faults due to lack of Annual Service.
Boiler beyond economical repair.
Adjustments to controls.
Faults caused by third-party interference, freezing conditions, water damage, or subsidence.
5.2 General Exclusions:
Losses related to known circumstances before the Plan Commencement Date.
Commercial property use.
HMO properties.
Costs exceeding cover limits.
Losses due to delays in spare parts unless caused by negligence.
Repairs compromising engineer safety.
Losses from malicious acts, lack of maintenance, or business interests.
SECTION 6 – YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 You are responsible for:
Providing accurate information.
Allowing access to your property.
Ensuring a clear working area.
Providing necessary facilities, services, and supplies.
Keeping minors away during work.
6.2 Behave appropriately, avoiding abuse of our staff.
6.3 Failure to comply may result in cancellation or charges.
SECTION 7 – OUR RESPONSIBILITIES
7.1 In carrying out repairs and/or annual service, we will:
Perform with reasonable skill and care.
Schedule work on agreed dates.
Remove waste and clean the work area.
SECTION 8 – CANCELLING THE PLAN
Your Cancellation Rights
8.1 A 14-day "Cooling Off Period" allows plan cancellation, starting from the Commencement Date. Refunds are possible if no work has commenced.
8.2 After the cooling off period, termination is possible without a refund.

Our Cancellation Rights
8.4 We may cancel in case of breach, false information, non-payment, or an unsuitable central heating system.
SECTION 9 – DATA PROTECTION
We collect and process your information to administer the Cover Plan.
SECTION 10 – GENERAL
9.1 Only You can benefit from these terms and conditions.
9.2 Governed by the laws of England and Wales, with exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.
9.3 Invalidity of any term does not affect the others.
9.4 These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement.
SECTION 11 – RENEWAL
We will contact you before the plan expires to arrange renewal. To decline, contact us at info@colchesterboilers.co.uk before the renewal date.
